Sharon Renold is a bassist, singer, composer, arranger and producer born and raised in Switzerland. Having grown up in the midst of her family’s music festival ‘Jazzaar’, she was surrounded by music and musicians’ day in and day out. This allowed her to discover and develop a high musical sensibility in addition to business and production skills at a very young age.
Soon, she became an active participant in the projects, first as an organizer and later as a performing artist. While performing at ‘Jazzaar’, she had the honor of working with acclaimed artists such as Randy Brecker, Gil Goldstein, Billy Cobham, and Christian Jacob amongst many others.
Back in 2015, Sharon decided to pursue her musical passion and began her studies at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, majoring in Contemporary Writing & Production. At Berklee, she had the opportunity to perform alongside and produce two of Berklee’s most high-profile ensembles: the Berklee Indian Ensemble and the Middle Eastern Fusion Ensemble often featuring world renowned artists such as Tigran Hamasyan, Shreya Ghoshal and Vijay Prakash. Just before completing her college chapter, she performed at Berklee’s commencement ceremony in the spring of 2018 where she got to play for Nile Rodgers, Esperanza Spalding and Rosanne Cash.
After graduating, Sharon was asked to perform her tunes & arrangements as a featured artist with the United Soloists Orchestra directed by Arseniy Shkaptsov.
As of Today, she is based in New York City where she is now working for two-time Grammy nominated artist J.Views as an assistant, freelancing and writing music for MassiveMusic NYC, producing and managing various artists in the area and writing and producing her own music.
This year she is set to release her first two albums. ‘Dihedrascope’ her debut as a solo artist and the other an electronic duo featuring pianist/producer Tom Bar (Berklee ’17).
